Alhumdu lillah, yesterday’s community picnic at the Az-Zahra Center was a huge success. On behalf of the Board of Trustees, I am honored to share this news brief with our community. A BIG thank you to everyone who helped in making this such a fun time for all. Youth participation was very positive and greatly appreciated. Everyting was scrumptous and there was plenty of food and fun for all ages. We did run out of the crowd favorite – BBQ chicken – but there were other items to fill in, especially the spicy burgers and chicken rolls. Insha’Allah, we will increase the quantity of BBQ chicken and may even add a few new items. May Allah (swt) reward each and every one for their participation. The good news, after paying $100 for the rental of the moonwalk, we made $916 from the sale of tickets. SubhanAllah.
Special thanks to Sanaa Shabbir for making and selling her special punch, flavorful strawberries, and cookies. These were all “homemade” and delicious too. Another good news, for a $20 donation, she will even share her secret recipes with you. Way to go, Girl! You are number 1 in my books. Of course, thanks to her parents for their help in making her succeed. Let me not forget Sharu for his part. Atta Boy, little Mr. S, thanks for your upbeat presence!
We received so many compliments for the food and fun that we will insha’Allah have another get together soon. All those interested in participating need to get in touch with me or Br. Abu Ali. We will finalize the list including the items and the responsible party in charge of bringing them to the center in the next 3 weeks or so.
We hope you and your family will come and join us in making the next one an even more successful event.
